Does any of this feel familiar?

Trauma does not stay in the past. It shows up in the present, often in ways that are hard to name.

  • You feel anxious, on guard, or unable to fully relax.
  • Memories, flashbacks, or triggers surface when you least expect them.
  • You feel numb, disconnected, or like you are going through the motions.
  • The same painful patterns keep repeating, no matter how hard you try.
  • You have been carrying this for a long time, and you are exhausted.

If you saw yourself in any of these, please hear this: you are not broken, and you do not have to heal alone.

A compassionate trauma therapy session where a therapist offers warmth and reassurance

A path built for you, not a cookie-cutter method

We practice integrated depth work, blending traditional psychodynamic principles with today’s most effective, evidence-based methods. Just as each person’s trauma is unique, so is the path to heal from it.

Make peace with the parts of you at war

Internal Family Systems (IFS). The different “parts” of you learn to work together instead of pulling you apart. Research shows IFS eases PTSD and depression.

Loosen the grip of memories that still hurt

EMDR. Gently reprocess stuck experiences so they lose their charge. The World Health Organization names EMDR a first-line treatment for PTSD.

Release the tension trauma leaves in your body

Somatic Experiencing. A body-based approach that calms the physical residue of trauma, with studies showing fewer PTSD symptoms and greater well-being.

Feel steadier and gentler with yourself

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Builds emotional resilience and self-compassion, and is especially effective for depression and trauma.

Reclaim the parts you have had to hide

Shadow Work. Together we bring buried feelings gently into the light, so you can move from fragmented survival into authentic wholeness.

Common questions

Will I have to relive my trauma in detail?

No. Approaches like EMDR and Somatic Experiencing help you process trauma safely and at your own pace, without forcing you to re-tell every painful detail.

What does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?

Your first consultation is always free. After that, sessions are $120 with a fully licensed clinician or $60 with a clinician-in-training (couples and family are $150 or $75). We welcome FSA and HSA cards, and as an out-of-network provider we can give you documentation to seek possible reimbursement from your insurance. We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare, and financial assistance may be available, so please just ask.

How long does trauma therapy take?

It is different for everyone. Because your story is unique, so is your path. We will talk through what to expect during your free consultation.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Care is available both in person and online throughout the greater Kansas City area.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

That is exactly what the free consultation is for. We will help match you with the therapist who best fits your needs.
